This is one of those books that I read frantically through to the end, immediately downloaded the rest of the series, and then went back and started over at the beginning. It's terrifying and creepy; funny and sad; and has some of the best sexual tension I've read in a long time. Love the rockabilly vibe, and the weird slang, and the world building, and of course the Terrible. Great characters. A perfect antidote to PNR/UF burnout. Ok I'll stop gushing now. I have to go read Book 2 anyway!Reread 5/25/13: So interesting to reread slowly, and not race to the fun bits. There is tons of subtle worldbuilding and character development - it's so fricking awesome. Plus - best soundtrack and wardrobe ever.
